Happy Valentine’s Day, mama! I am bringing you 11 Ways the Tired Mama Can Love Herself This Valentine’s Day.
I’ll admit it: I’m sort of a romantic at heart and I enjoy the corny things about Valentine’s Day.
Some may say that Valentine’s Day is a commercial holiday or that you should cherish your loved one every day of the year, but I can’t help falling into the hype.
I’ve been married for over 8 years now and I am grateful that celebrating this holiday is as easy as me picking out what I want, and buying him chocolate.
Seriously, food will always win my husband’s heart!
I’ve been having a rough week with my toddlers. Like, exhausted, run-down and sneaking too many chocolates, rough. It’s seriously been a doozy.
So it’s not a surprise that I’ve been craving more self-care time.
Nope, no surprise at all.
And I’ve been thinking about you, mama. How self-love is also important on (the most romantic) day of the year.
Have you thought about how YOU are going to treat yourself this Valentine’s Day?
I think that downloading my free printable is a great place to start!
I’m a tired mama, and I’m probably guessing that so are you.
Am I right?
I don’t have the energy to spend hours at a spa, hair salon, or go rock-climbing. Frankly, the thought of all that sounds exhausting.
And unless I was sleeping at the first two, I would rather stay home in my flannel jammies and fall asleep ten minutes into FRIENDS.
Who am I kidding? Nobody can fall asleep to FRIENDS because it’s freaking hilarious.
But, aside from being a wife and mama, you are still a women that needs to practice self-care and love. Even when you are tired.
Oh. So. Tired.
Mama, I want you to love yourself this Valentine’s Day.
I know that you’re tired and be the end of the day, you really just want to sit back and relax!
I got you.

Buy yourself flowers
I love buying myself flowers every now and then because it’s a real mood booster, but how about splurging and buying yourself long-stemmed roses this year?
Go the extra mile and write a funny note on the card to make yourself smile.
Indulge in chocolate (and don’t feel guilty about it)
Go ahead and buy the chocolate and don’t even feel bad about doing so!
I love me some chocolate with anything peanut-butter. Yuuuum. What’s your favorite?
Or how about buying a box of chocolates and sampling every single one. Like, no f’s given, right? It’s all yours. You don’t have to share.
Those extra calories really don’t count on a holiday, right?
Skip cooking and order in
Why stress over making dinner (with the hassel of cleaning up) when you can order in?
Splurge on enjoying some take-out pizza, chinese, or even a steak, and have it delivered right to your doorstep.
Check out Uber Eats to discover restaurants that deliver near you.
Draw yourself a relaxing bath with all the fixings
Turn your bathroom into a mini-spa and unwind in a relaxing bath.
To make your bath even more relaxing, I recommend incorporating the following:
- epsom salt to soothe muscles and detoxify the body
- bath salts for added scent and skin nourishment
- essential oils to help calm and relax the mind
- rose petals for fragrance
- lighted candles for ambience
- low lighting for relaxation
Stay in your spa-excursion bath for as long as you’d like. You will find it easy to escape and fall into nirvana.
Buy something that makes you feel comfortable
I know you probably are overdue for a new pair of leggings, mama. Right? How about make the time to go out and buy yourself something that makes you feel comfortable.
It can also be an over-size sweatshirt, chunky scarf, warm socks, or a pair of slippers; anything that makes you feel comfy.

Treat yourself to a Netflix and wine date
Put the kids to bed early and hop on the sofa to binge-watch your fav Netflix show; to be a little daring, enjoy your show with a bowl of popcorn or a glass of wine.
Forget about the dirty dishes that may be lingering in the sink, turn off the lights, and let go in a little Netflix therapy! And if you fall asleep during your TV marathon, that’s okay, too. You’re still a bad ass.
